“The 20th Century gave us great conservation leaders who inspired us to go outside and save what was left of our big wild places. Now we need a 21st Century conservation that will produce new leaders from the worlds of civil society, business, and finance to create economies that value these wild places in every transaction.”
Jim Tolisano, ICONS Co-Founder
ICONS facilitated the development of an innovative strategic plan and business plan to guide the work of Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association (WIOMSA), the leading marine science institution serving east and south African and Indian Ocean nations.
We work in collaboration with the Coastal First Nations, Nanwakolas Council, and Coast Funds, a unique indigenous conservation trust to support the financial sustainability of the world’s first indigenous-led network of marine protected areas and nature-based economic development for indigenous communities within the Northern Shelf marine ecosysems in coastal British Columbia.
The ICONS team developed a comprehensive conservation plan for the Rensselaer Land Trust, a private land conservation trust in the Adirondacks region of New York State.
